Our four year long nightmare is finally at an end. Repeated chemical spraying of our apartment by the landlord did nothing except get rid of the bedbugs for a couple months at the most. So we called in Thermokill at our own expense to take care of the problem once and for all. These guys really earned their pay, digging through 31 years worth of clutter to prepare the place for treatment, something I could never do on my own with three disabled adults to care for. The only negative thing I can say about them is that they were almost an hour late in arriving. But that did give me a bit of extra time to get a few things done myself, and once they did arrive, they plowed right in and got the job done.

When we discovered that a tenant had left us with bed bugs, my husband started researching for the safest, most effective way to deal with the situation. The Thermokill process was clearly the most effective way to eliminate the problem, as we have a dog, and a new tenant moving in within the week. We wanted a one time extermination, not a company that needs to come back time and again.

Their team was a lovely group of men who worked hard on a very hot day. They had clearly taken care our home and possessions! They worked hard to ensure that our new tenant could move in to a safe clean home, as she too has a dog. They did a great job, and were very pleasant to have around the house.

So, it’s 3 weeks later, the Thermokill team came back yesterday to do a followUp and no bugs were found. I would highly recommend this company, if you are ever in need!

Regards,
Sandra

When tenants left us with a hoarders paradise and an extreme infestation of bed bugs, we were referred to Thermokill and don’t regret it. They were thorough, on time and professional throughout the process. They managed not only the extermination but also the preparedness. We received a final inspection report which will be required when we market the property. We would recommend them anytime.

Why use bed bug heat treatment?

Bed bug heat treatment is the most effective method to kill bed bugs and their eggs. Unlike pesticide or chemical treatment, heat treatment is able to get all the areas of a room. It is also able to eliminate any eggs (which is something chemical treatment cannot do).

Compared to other forms of treatment, heat treatment is a safe method. It doesn’t require much preparation. You will not need to dispose any sheets, drapery, pillows, or furniture. Nor does heat treatment ruin any fabrics or materials.

Why does pesticide and chemical treatment fail?

In fact, 95% of the customers that come to us have used chemical treatment, and because it didn’t work in removing the eggs, they hire us to use heat treatment. Chemical treatment and pesticides have problems getting to corners, edges, cracks, and floor openings. As a result, the bed bug eggs continue to be a problem. Chemical treatment also requires multiple uses, whereas heat treatment is a one-time activity. Chemical treatment is also very unhealthy for children, seniors, and to the majority of the populace.
Bed bugs and eggs die when air temperatures reach the 125F (52 ° C)  called the “kill zone.” Forced convection technology is used in our process to produce sustained temperatures of up to 145 ° F. It ensures the “kill zone” heat is pumped through the treatment area quickly and evenly, guaranteeing the death of ALL bed bugs and bed bug eggs from your home and surroundings. The peak temperature engineering ensures that the temperature reaches to even harder to reach areas. Bugs have been known to actually leave the area with pesticide treatments and return when it is safe – one of the reasons it often requires multiple applications and multiple visits. Since bed bugs are drawn to heat (it’s how they find their meal), they remain in the kill zone, guaranteeing complete annihilation in one trip. Bed bugs emerge from hiding instead of trying to escape and travel towards the heat source. Remaining bed bugs hiding inside anything will still be killed immediately as soon as the temperature reaches the kill zone.

Bed Bug Heat Treatment Process

  1. Meticulous pre-inspection and evaluation of your property prior to starting the treatment
  2. Preparation of equipment
  3. Introduce heat and raise the structure to 125-140 degrees celsius
  4. Manipulation of furniture and soft goods to ensure heat eliminates every cool spot
  5. Monitoring until all areas reach lethal temperatures, and are held in excess of industry-accepted standards
  6. The cleanup process includes vacuuming and returning furniture to pre-treatment location
  7. Cooldown of the structure

We are providing bed bugs heat treatment services in all areas of GTA which includes Brampton, Mississauga, RichmondHill, Etobicoke, Markham, Toronto, Scarborough
